The Champaign Rotary Comedy Night features a stellar cast of comedians from the Chicago Comedy All-Stars. Read a bit more about each member of the cast below.
Jimmy McHugh
Jimmy McHugh has been dishing out his style of comedy for over 25 years. Born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago, Jimmy blends a mixture of classic observational humor emphasized with his unique vocal and facial expressions.
Taking his swings at the world of sports, Ernie Tucker of the Chicago Sun Times wrote, “Jimmy McHugh delivers some of the funniest sports material I have ever heard.”
Jimmy makes appearances comedy clubs in Chicago and nation wide. He has also been seen on Comedy Central, HBO, MTV, ESPN2 and the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Bill Gorgo
Bill's career in entertainment has been a regular buffet. While writing and performing standup his first love, he has written 3 plays and a television series, acted in half a dozen stage
productions, is an award winning storyteller, been active in talk radio, and taught dramatic arts to grades 6-12. Currently, he teaches standup classes and mentors several young comedians. And be sure to ask him about being part of creating a terrific cookbook, “Life Beyond Takeout.”
Katie Meiners
Katie is a funny and energetic stand-up comedian who performs in comedy clubs throughout the Midwest. She is a graduate of the Second City Comedy Writing program as well as the University of Michigan. Taking inspiration from iconic one-liner comedians as well as comic story-tellers, she incorporates her less-than-supervised childhood experiences into her act.
Katie won the inaugural Chicago Comedy Competition and the Smoke Break Comedy Competition.
Brian Hicks
Brian is one of the country's most sought-after stand-up comics, (no, he is not wanted by the police). However, he has taken the comedy world by storm with his insightful views on what people find funny. The laughs come fast and frequently as he has spent the last 23 years honing his craft at clubs and theaters across the United States. Brian specializes in giving every audience a hilarious and singular comedic experience. His unique talent consists of clever material and unparalleled audience interaction, which he combines seamlessly with his lightning-quick wit. Brian has incredible instincts and an undeniable ability to make audiences laugh.
